Busby’s is a family-owned tavern serving 25 rotating tap beers, wine, classic cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. We honor the rich history of our building while embracing innovation and creativity in our design and offerings. Our goal is to provide an unforgettable experience where the energy of the space itself guides the atmosphere, and every guest feels welcomed and valued.
Owner Rob Zellermayer has over two decades of experience in hospitality and the beer industry. The profound love of all things hospitality has led Rob and his wife Foga to dream of creating a welcoming space in their community to celebrate life through shared conversations and experiences.
A brief break in serving drinks to sell beer to various Bay View bars allowed Rob to build a friendship with Mike Romans, the former owner or Romans’ Pub, the bar previously occupying this space. This also allowed Rob to learn the ins and outs of the famous Romans’ Pub, including the buildings rich history. Mike was always quick to share stories of the stagecoach stop turned speakeasy, as well as his near 44 years of stewardship over this historic site. Rob was also fortunate to gather a story or two of Mike himself, one of the greatest personalities in Milwaukee’s tavern history.
Rob and Foga are honored to continue sharing these stories and become caretakers of an establishment that has meant so much to the neighborhood.
